CRITTERS

Monster Raising Game - Gameplay Programmer, 2d Artist

Created for Ludum Dare 49 2020, I worked alone on the project and created the sprite art and all scripts in 72 hours with Unity C# and Aseprite.  Critters is a 3 button monster training game centred around raising creatures from eggs, cleaning up after them, and feeding them so they can grow.  There are 19 unique Critters to raise and train, an expansive shop with furniture and food to increase happiness, 2 minigames, a saveable storage system, and sound.

GAMEPLAY PROGRAMMER AND DESIGNER

There's randomized evolutions, and 2 minigames (keep em up, and ball bounce).  There are 19 unique creatures, if including evolutions.  There are 10 furniture options to decorate with.

2D ARTIST

All the 2d pixel art was made during the jam in Aseprite by me, including the 19 unique creature designs.  The art uses a restricted colour pallet, with 4 colours plus alpha for the monsters, and the same 4 colours plus alpha for the background.

SAVE SYSTEM PROGRAMMER

The game is capable of saving the players creature, inventory, their selected and owned furniture, their food, and various stats throughout the game.
